I have Abbott bushes on my Aero, but I fitted new OEM rubber ones to the CSE (I bought it for my father to drive, so am keeping it standard). It made an amazing difference to the feel of the car. The steering is no longer mushy and the "floatiness" at motorway speeds is gone. It's a 2.0LPT auto, so I can't comment on torque steer. However, I get zero torque steer on my '96 Aero with Maptun stage 2 upgrade (275hp, 330lbft). Nor can I spin the wheels above first gear in the dry (unless I floor it while cornering). I have the Abbott control arm bushes (SuperFlex gave the same benefit, but shrank after a while), Abbott suspension kit, SuperFlex rear anti-roll bar bushes and steering rack bushes, Bridgestone S-03s on the standard Super Aero wheels.
I plan to publish photos of the old CSE bushes to show the visible wear and separation after 100K miles on a fairly low-powered 9000. They were well shot. I'd say if you have more than about 60K on your Aero, you definitely need to change them. Does it feel vague at motorway (highway) speeds?
