Mobil One is the true exception in the market place. You can also get RedLine and Amsoil full sythetics. However, Amsoil 7500 has gone to group III base stock to get onto the mass market bandwagon. Those who are informed and care will buy their other products. In Europe they have a much better choice of products and overall, they have better fuels and oils there.
All synthetics will have some dyno based stock, as the group IV and V synthetic base stocks to not 'carry' the addative packages well.
This BB is not very informative about lube oils. Your tuner buddy is mis-informed or you are.
Synthetics are completely different beasties from dyno's. The viscocity objectives can be met by blending different systhetic base stocks, rather than loading up a dyno oil with lots of viscosity index improvers. The VI improvers wear out from shear, and the high temp viscosity can drop, leaving you with inadequate lubrication in journal bearings and piston skirts etc. So the tri synthetic name reflects the blending of different base stocks to get the viscocity properties.
Please confirm such claims yourself before you post such stuff.
