setup:
*saab roadholding kit on '89 900t. the ride is stiff.
*springs/shocks have less than 40k miles on them (~135K total miles)
*ball joints are about same age, too.
*overall, i'd say the front end is pretty tight, except for dying tie rod ends.
after reading about removing the bar on several autox sites plus here, i decided to yank it. i like it. the springs are stiff enough so that roll isn't an issue (at least i'm not perceiving any more than w/the bar). corner acceleration is obviously improved, ride is quieter, smoother over bumps. steering response is no better or worse than before the bar came off.
one thing to note when you remove the bar: because you must loosen/move the rack to pull the bar out, you're going to change the alignment a bit (might be able to mark exact location before unbolting to preserve it?).
if u r not sure about yanking it, u could first try shimming up the attachment points beneath the car.
