An intercooler was one of the first things I installed when I bought my 78 99 T. It was a bit tight of a fit, but it seemed to all come together. I made a sheetmetal bracket to hold the base of the IC in place, took out the lhs high beam head lamp and bucket for air flow. I place a screen in between the lamp's chrome ring and the base frame. I get a few questions on what happened to the head light? I think your 79 has the square 4x6" I also installed a small 12 volt fan in the lower left hand corner of the ic. I cheated and it kicks on with the rad fan. no fancy pressure switches. I run about 11-12psi. the only problem so far is the hose from the ic to the throttle body popped off. I made a clamp bracket that uses the existing metal strut that use to attach to the original upper turbo pipe. Accord the the Scanwest guys the fuel should be fine without mods until you get up in the 15-20 range. I have messed with the line pressure. I installed some wires yesterday and according to the volt meter off the O2 I'm running rich. Still experimenting. have fun....
