Boost curve on Aero

Has anyone charted the boost curve on an unmodified Aero? On my 1994 Aero with my foot to the floor in 3rd gear at 1200rpm my boost tends to hit around 16psi at 1900rpm then begins to taper off so that by 4500rpm it's down to around 10psi. Is this normal? I hear people talking about holding max boost until max rpm. I use premium fuel with an octane rating of 92.
It seems that plug gap has a significant impact on boost taper. When I installed plugs gapped at 1.0mm the taper was greater than when the plugs were gapped at .9mm. What plug gap are people using in their Aero's?
I'm trying to determine if my car is performing its best before I begin upgrading it. Thanks for the feedback.
