MHI TD04HL-15T upgrade qs: Dr Boost, others?

Greetings! I have followed with interest, although imperfect comprehension, the posts concerning replacement of the C900 turbo with other turbos, such as the MHI TD04HL-15T. I am uncertain which would suit my design goal. Perhaps someone can help?
Design goals: In my 87 SPG (see below for mods), I would like great response and a fat power band between 3000 and 5500 rpm. I "think" an "ideal" for my driving style would be boost at 3000, full boost by 3300, and sustained, strong boost through 5000 (some taper is fine so long as boost is strong).
Currently she's still running the OEM turbo, which I believe is a "large-flange" Garrett. Posts by Dr. Boost seem to suggest MHI TD04HL-15T from 9000 Aero would be good choice, but I'm not sure which wheels (5cm? 6cm?)would work to achieve design target. Can anyone verify whether this is a good matcfh and which wheels would be best??
Thanks, and cheers to all!
Jim Watts
