Modified '92 900T:
SPG9 Stage 2 APC
SPG9 RRFPR
SPG9 balanced 30# injectors
SPG9 AID
Group 6 IC pipes
SPG9 Turbo T3/60 w/ new wastegate actuator
Stratmosphere/Forge Bypass Valve
Saab Radiator fan pulling on back of intercooler
Aquamist 2c water injection
Magnecore wires
NGK BP7 EV plugs gapped to 0.028"
New Bosch dist. cap & rotor button
270 ohm resistor on AMM wire to ECU
Timing 20 degrees BTDC
Autometer a/f ratio gauge reads 2-3 bars green at wot
Autometer EGT gauge reads 14-1500 degrees F at wot
Boost is set to about 23-24 psi max sustained (4th/5th gear)
Problem: Just replaced the turbocharger and got the water injection working - night and day difference in power and smoothness, however, at 4000 rpm in any gear, there is a big jolt as the APC backs down to 15 psi. Problem is worse if I accelerate hard through all the gears, less if I'm at speed and going hard 3rd-5th.
Any thoughts on what to adjust? Could I be running out of fuel (injector duty cycle?) Will try narrowing plug gap to 0.024" this weekend. Could a mechanical problem i.e. bad valves in a cylinder cause noise that would be heard as knock to apc? I do get tapping occasionally when cold.
Thanks,
Chad '92 900T
