Hi there Saab experts, im pretty new to this site ( 1st time I've written in rather than leaching info.. )
I have a 1994 2.0l CSE LPT ( ecopower ) ( had APC but no intercooler as standard ) ive owned the car around 2 years
now & although happy with performance, am now on the lookout for low cost improvements.
I have already fitted an Intercooler from a later model ( in-frount of air con condensor. & have just added a boost
gauge to see whats happening in the turbo department. )
I have a couple of questions which hopefully someone out there can help me with,
When "powering" uphill in 3rd gear from 2000rpm to 4000rpm under full throttle ( or near it ) boost appears to
quickly rise to around 6psi & holds at this level until throttle is released even the slightest amount at which
moment boost imediately drops to zero, is this normal ? I would have expected a maintained but lower of level of
boost dependant on load ??
Incidently while exploring the car during a recent clutch replacement ( bit of a nightmare with no lifting gear !! )
I came across a plastic plug completely blocking the hose to the inlet of vacume operated "blow off" valve, I
removed this & engine still seams to run the same, could this be related to above situation ??
Any opinions would be welcome,
Also any suggestions as to cheap performance mods welcome ( im looking for a FPT trionic unit from similar age of
car but so far have had no success ( welll sub £200 anyway !!!! )
Thanks in advance,
Stephen.
