His plan is what works well for many 9k guys with T25 ... similar to teo5. The oversized 3" dp seems to help, even with 2.5" exh, and original small elbo flange. The splitter must not be used here. This design is what Brad suggested, and is more realistic option than the MRT design.
The MRT method replaces the 5 bolt cover with a big custom flat flange, that has the bulged, split entry into the dp. This is really best done by shop like brad's where it can be done right, and a bunch can be made and also sold to others. Too expensive/elaborate for any one-off job by a muffler shop.
