Oh, I see. Motec is certainly the most sophisticated (and expensive) stand alone you can get. I really doubt if you'll be able to find a harness that will plug to the ecu plug, but I would think that with a project as large as yours that a little extra soldering will be a small part.
Regarding the Motec. Will it allow you to use the factory engine sensors and DI cassette? What do you do for crank sensor? Since there is no knock sensor due to the trionic what will you use for knock detection? (that's the thing I'm really curious about)
It sounds like you have an exciting project.
I have a much moded 900 set with an abbott ecu and I really don't like the crudeness of their approach but I'm also leary of spending more money for some other tuners work that I don't know is any better. I'd sure like to do a stand alone system for my car just so I knew I could dial it in correctly. My stepson is in the vw performance tuning biz where they manufacture their own turbo and big bore kits. They have found, even with their dyno, that chip tuning to factory engine management is extremely tedious and you often hit hardware limitations or code problems that you can't work around and that simply going to a stand alone system is a whole lot less work and with better results.
Good luck and please keep us posted
