Its been discussed before. When the ingition is on, but the engine is not running, the boost indicator shows the pressure offset. You can approach 17 PSI, possibley more, but the FRP will not deliver enough fuel and you can crush the FPR can in a vice to get the fuel pressure up. Other methods could also be applied. After the resistor goes in, the ECU starts to adapt via the O2 sensor and it calibrates it self to the new reality. But it has been reported to involve a lot of running problems until it gets things settled. I think that if the engine, O2 sensor and cat were hot, then the resistance added then the engine started, then the adaption would go much sooner than with a cold O2 sensor and cat. Brad had a 99SET modified in this fashion and I took it out for a drive. It was quite powerful. It was not extensively modified otherwise. He had removed the rear mufler and was running on the resonator. That had some odd resonances. It had the stock cat I believe, stock TBTC and a paper air filter I suspect. I don't know if it had the water injection on it, somehow I can't see Brad not doing something like that.

If a more modest boost increase was sought, the FPR would not need to be modified. With a MBC, a small resistance could be used to move the boost cut pressure and adaption would be easier and there would be no FPR issue.

If the resistance is high to get lots of boost using the BPC, then the FPR needs to be modified. If this is not done, the ECU will post an adaption error.

This will not work on a T7, because the ECU will still torque limit based on the air mass flow determined by the air mass sensor.

No I have not done this, yes I might someday. I am still impressed with how well the Viggen IC works. That with my other modes and I have great power even up to 100F. And that is without the intake insulation that I usually run in the summer.
