i'd say it depends. it looks to be about $400-500 for the full kit. then you need to figure how you are going to mount the other injectors. i know steve y had a manifold made for 4 extra injectors, but i don't know what it cost. it probably wasn't too cheap. plus you need 4 other injectors (but you can probably use stock size for fairly cheap).

you would be able to keep the injectors you are running now, not worry about a rrfpr or a larger regulator since you could fill in the flat spots with the extra injectors. so it might save that amount of money.

as far as the mapping, it looks pretty rudimentary. on/off seems to be controlled by rpm, and boost points and then offers a set amount per psi.

with the stand alone system i am mapping now, i can tell you there are variations in injector pulsewidth with rpm which your proposed unit doesn't enable control over. it essentially gives you a set amount of fuel at each load point regardless of the rpm.

however, to fill in for the shortfalls of the stock system, you would only really need the extra fuel from about 5000-6000 rpm. so you could have the unit come on at your peak boost and at 5000 rpm, then adjust the per psi amount to allow for somewhere around 12.5:1 a/f ratio.

i don't think it would be good for a broad rpm range, but it seems like it might easily fill in for the shortcomings of the stock ecu at high boost levels.
