the turbo can only..... Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Well with my mods will the spool up change???, Mohammad, Wed, 25 Sep 2002 23:30:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
spool up so fast its physics
I run a bigger turbo & it spools up a bit slower but holds boost longer & flows more air ( better eficiency )
like marco said the apc sol dosent even start to allow the WG to open till I thought 3200 rpm or knock is detected or a certain boost is het which I believe is set by the P pot
as I understand F is like top end boost & P is the initial spike
most of my experience is with my 85 apc box which Im verry happy with
so Im not up on the mods to the later boxes
Id research mods for your box pick one & use it theres a few good mods out there IM not sure about the P in the cabin idea Id get it setup so it runs good & keep your foot out of it if you dont wana fly
Ill tell you this though when you want to get over 17 lbs boost you have to either get a stronger WG actuator or ad helper springs because exhaust back pressure will blow the WG open & you will think its the apc I run 10 lbs base boost & still think it blows openat higher rpms
I would also sugjest you bend the retard stop in your vac advance retard diafram to twice the stock gap & than set timing under 10 lbs psig use a pump to 10 degrees btdc
& eventually you will need to kill or greatly reduce KS sensativity in your apc I have the k pot all the way up stock KS will only get in the way of you making power & no one else uses them trhey just make sure that everything else is rite
so sorry I couldent be of more help on your apc but mabey this other stuff will help
take care
