Peter,
Your boost-check-with-the-brakes comment brought a funny thought to mind. I live in Florida now, but back in Massachusetts we had these things called "hills" that were great for testing boost ;^) I miss them!
Seems to me your idle/coast pressures are right on the mark, but I know they can vary a bit. In the good old days before computerized engines, 18-20 at idle and 24-26 coasting was considered good. But with the strange things they do these days to control emissions (like holding the idle valve open, varying timing, etc.), all bets are off. If your engine is running well I wouldn't worry about it too much.
