You should be able to use the same exhaust manifold. And rest
assured that if you do the 3" exhaust, you won't have any spool-up
problems with new software. If you go with Maptun, you can ask
Fredrik to custom program how you like it - this means tranny
breaking torque or something less destructive! The Abbott IC
is not the same as the Engstrom (Kilar Jonsson) - I have the
KJ, 50 mm thick version. He also makes one 60 mm thick but
that requires removal of the AC condenser. I don't think the larger IC lowers the intake temperatures under normal conditions. However,
at prolonged wide open throttle, it probably takes much longer to
get heat-soaked than the stock IC. What it does
have is less pressure drop across the inlet and outlet than the
stock unit. It also doesn't have plastic end tanks, which are prone
to failure with higher boost pressures. I see it as more of an
insurance item than as a performance one. Lastly, Fredrik will
reprogram your software exactly the way you want it and according
to whatever mod's you have done to the intake or exhaust . I think
Maptun is able to source you a good price on a TD04, too - just
ask Fredrik: support@maptun.com
