One of two ways I know of... both of which aren't too great
During max boost...
1: listen for detonation coming from your engine bay (this is very bad if it's happening -- do not let it happen for long)
2: watch your turbo needle, if it drops down signifigantly, you don't have enough fuel, so the APC system is getting rid of some of that boost which can seriously be damaging to your engine (detonation)
the APC system is good, but not flawless... it will back off the pressure when it's looking bad, but it always won't get it all the time, definatly not the best way to judge air/fuel mix...
either way... $30 for a Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com) air/fuel gauge 2-1/16" (the one I have) is well worth the price... whatever brand of AF gauge you choose, you won't be dissatisfied
just my two cents
hope it helped
