I don't think you screwed it up just yet. You should have done this:
Attached the Ohm meter to the pins on the AMM unit, #3 and #6, they're clearly numbered as you can see.
Then to set it, simply turn the screw while reading the meter itself.
250 Ohm should be fine, or there abouts.
I think clowise turns it up (increases the numbers)
If you've turned the screw about 1/4 turn (counterclockwise) from where it was already set at, you should have turned it enough to be o.k. Again, read the meter. Higher numbers will make it richer, lower willn make it leaner. You want to lean it out some to compensate for the #30 Yo!
