Brake fluid data Posted by mike TX [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Before I hit the track this past weekend, I was given some data on brake fluid boiling temps. Since I had a past experience of losing brakes after boiling the fluid, I decided to reducing my chances of repeating myself. I used the Motul RBF 600, which I found at a motorcycle shop for $11 a bottle. I ran the car hard, and the brakes harder, with no problems.
I have heard that it only takes several weeks for brake fluid to absorb enough moisture to lower the boiling point to the wet numbers. I hope this info is useful.
I will post more on the actual track event later.
Mike
