The "in" line from the fuel pump goes to the fuel rail at the front of the car (by the AIC valve), so it feeds the fuel rail directly. The short 90-degree line to the fuel pressure regulator is going "out" of the fuel rail into the FPR. The rubber line coming out of the bottom of the FPR is actually the "return" fuel line to the tank (low pressure).
The segment you busted should be replaceable. Right before the line disappears into the fender, there should be a small union w/ hose clamps that you can undo. Then you just need a replacement 2' section with the banjo fitting on the end. I believe that I have this part (email me) but I'd have to go digging. Or you could hit the junkyards.
