Slipping clutch........(long)

Right, where do I start?? The car is a UK 1989 900T with a 16V conversion, extra fuel injector, water injection, 2 1/2" exhaust, air intake mod etc. The car has a MBC valve instead of APC and is set at 20psi constant. The type of turbo is a stock Mitsubishi TE-05.
Anyway, since doing various mods and getting more power out of the car I started noticing a bit of clutch slip when giving WOT from below 2000rpm. The Mitsubishi turbo spools up so quickly that it is giving full boost by around 2200 rpm. Anyway, at that point the clutch slips and the engine will rev up to around 3000rpm until the clutch eventually grips. This problem got progressively worse, as more power was pushed from the engine.
To try to remedy the problem I replaced all clutch components with brand new genuine parts, and fitted a Swedish Dynamics Kevlar clutch disc. Anyway, the problem has NOT gone after doing this. I'm sure the problem is due to the Mitsu turbo spooling up so damn quickly, but what are my options. I am quite sure if I went back to the original Garrett turbo which had a much slower boost rise the problem would go. Like I said the problem is only on the initial blast of boost pressure when flooring the car below 3000rpm. Above that it is fantastic.
Has anyone else suffered this problem, and what advice could you give me?
TIA
Angus
