Hi !
First, I would like to correct a mistake, I wrote EEPROM (wrong), it's EPROM.
The C900 AMM is just too small, I don't like the ide to run the engine witout knowing the airmass going in to it.
So, we have two options, either go for a bigger (9k) AMM or an aftermarket engine management system.
Problems:
Big AMM needs a custom EPROM in the LH box, I don not belive in using 9k LH system and 9k EPROM. (the calibrationas are too different)
I hate to say this, but for a "serious project" I guess that an aftermarket system will provide you with the freedom you need for calibration of the specific vehicle.
I don't belive in making calibrations if you're not in the car.
Well, it's possible, but takes a lot of time....
Another weak link is the ignition system.
With a "mechanical" ignition timing system, you're far from optimum ignition timing, fuel economy/performance.
A fully "electronic" system will give you the possibility to get optimum ignition timing over the complete rpm/load range.
But as always, it's all about $$$$$
