I like the front and rear tires to be in about the same distance from the outer lip of the fender. On a stock c900, the rear wheels are about 8mm or 9mm further in on the back then the front. Using rear spacers 10mm wider than the front puts the rear wheel and the front wheels at about the same distance from the fender edge (rears out 1mm to 2mm more).

A 15mm spacer puts a 195 rear tire even with the furthest out part of the rear bumber extension (bump at top) when sighted from straight behind (hopefully that makes sense). With a 15mm spacer on the rear, the widest part of a 195 tire is still in about 12mm from the furthest out part of the fender lip (the very top). With a 205, it is about 10mm.

I selected 15mm and 5mm for the following reasons:

1) When sighted from behind, the fender edge follows the body curve without any "flat" spots, so the fender edge when viewed straight from behind looks kind of like this:

More modern cars "flatten out" near the top so they are more like this:

(Hopefully you get the idea). Anyway, if you bring the wheel all the way to the edge with a lip angle like the c900, it can look a little funny since the whole tire but the very top is essentially sticking out . So, I didn't want them all the way to the edge.

2) 195 or 205 are still relatively skinny tires. If brought all the way out to the edge of the fender, they would look even skinnier and a bit odd.

3) I wanted to use H&R Trak+ spacers due to the quality.

4) I wanted front and rear to be spaced from the edge of the fender the same amount if possible.

Given that I wanted the tires tucked in at least 5mm or so, I could use a spacer no thicker than 20mm. 20mm might look OK, but since the front had to be 10 mm less that the rear I couldn't do this because H&R does not make a 10mm spacer for the late C900 so I would have to get spacers custom made. H&R makes the following thickness for >87 C900 (4x108): 5mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm. Given these, there are only two combinations possible that meet criteria 3 and 4 above: 5mm and 15mm or 15mm and 25mm. Only one combination meets all of my criteria: 5mm and 15mm. Ergo, I have that.

H&R recommended ECS as the dealer and they were also the cheapest price I found. They are at:

I know I have some after pics with 195s somewhere, I might even have some before pics that I can post if you want me to see if I can dig them up.

Hope this helps,
