SAABOTR - finally!

Well, today was the day! I should note that for the past month, on and off, I've been chasing down electrical gremlins. First it was the alternator not charging, then it was the starter, and finally figured out it was the lack of a grounding strap between the tranny and chassis.
I finished putting in the starter bracket, tidied up a few other interior trim bits, and off I went to the gas station for a 92 octane breakfast (92's the best we can get around here). My friend Robin followed, acting as chase car, in his '91 9000 SPG. No problems at all. Cold start is a bit iffy, but the car caught after 2-3 cranks. Low speed driveability needs some work too. 3 and 4 shift needs a touch more adjustment, though it could be perhaps down to the brand new tranny too.
The tranny, BTW, is pretty funky. The gearing is immediately noticeably taller, of course. Instead of starting in first and then shifting halfway through the intersection, or shifting while turning, I'm in first throughout. Have not yet romped on the throttle of course, need to break the motor in, so more thoughts on the tranny later.
I am enjoying my new suspension setup too, so far. Konis on Abbotts with poly rack bushings, poly shock bushings, poly swarbar bushings and new rubber control arm bushings. Just read Steve Y's post on his bushing upgrade, made me salivate, so maybe I'll have to do that stuff later too...
