2 approaches, 2 schools of thought

#1: Eliminate knock protection aspect of APC. Can you do that? Sure. Should you? Well, it's your car... but the knock protection is one of the reasons I chose a Saab.
#2: Use to reduce lag time and initial response. MBC is installed between turbo and BCV "c" port. Set the valve at a minimum level where you KNOW, JUST FLAT KNOW you won't have any knock. This is low, buddy, somewhere around 8 psi as I installed it, to ensure there's no bad gas day ahead. What this install does is hide boost from the APC, which otherwise begins to crack the wastegate a smidge as soon as it sees boost, to reduce that sudden response that is dangerous for inattentive drivers. This approach does NOT raise the full boost level at all, but it does (in my experience, and in the posts of others, search for Beaudreau) greatly reduce the response time to full boost.
Several other mods are needed as a package to attain and sustain significantly increased boost. But as part of that package, and in Mode #2, the MBC excels.
Good luck. Drive well.
