...yes, that's right, "increased boost"!

As you might imagine, the route I've taken to get there has been a nightmare. Got two ECU's - modified one to accept PLCC flash ROM's in sockets, modified the other to take DIP chips in sockets (easier to remove/program/install repeatedly). Had a nasty false start when I tried to use 29F010 chips instead of 28F010's (they're *supposed* to read the same...), but got over it.

I'm now in the process (about 95% complete) of writing a VB program which displays the various maps in the ECU in 3D graphic format and allows editing and comparing various versions. Don't know yet what all the different maps do, but I'm working on it!

I actually made an interesting tweak to the boost map - one that most folks on this board would probably consider heresy. In first gear, and over all but the last 2/8 of the throttle range, I actually *reduced* the boost. This, to me, makes the car easier to drive and may help gas mileage a tad. The 7/8 throttle position has about stock boost, although I raised it a bit at the high RPM ranges. The 8/8 throttle position has increased boost - haven't hooked-up my gauge yet, but I'm estimating about 18 PSI.

The overall effect is that the car feels a little less "out of control" in normal driving, but when you floor it - wow!
