trent metal dump valve

Hey I got a metal dump valve a few months back from a guy at the Cinci convention, and he said this would add performance to my car. So I bought it and noticed the car was substancialy slower in 1st gear. My car is an automatic. Also when changing gears, sometimes the car would stop, jerk and change gears hard. The car got better about it after a few days, however if stepping on the gas semi hard getting on the freeway or whatever I would have to let off the gas slightly when the car was about to change gears so the auto transmission would shift properly. It also continued to be slower in first gear and I had to step on the gas pedal harder. I noticed a small change in the way the gears changed, and it had a different feel to it with a slight increase in the mid range. I tryed it for a few weeks, and the car did not get use to it, so I had to take it off and put my bosch back on. It feels much better with the plastic valve and changes gears much better. Does any one have any idea why this was happening? Is there a different one that would work better? Could this part be for an older saab? Mine is a 98'900s and it is an automatic. Also if any one wants a practicaly new steel trent metal dump valve, let me know. Thank's
