Hey JohnC -
You are right; I would be looking for a 2-door sedan (or 'notchback') with no sunroof for a race shell. They were only in the US for 2 years I think, like '86-'87, or '87-'88. Someone here or on the c900 board could pin that down better.
It's easy to drop a few hundred pounds off of any street car; I think the sedan’s advantage is a stiffer construction because it lacks the gigantic hatch opening (i.e. flex-hole). This in turn helps the suspension work as it should.
I would have one of these 1) if they weren't so hard to find and 2) if the SPG 3-door didn't look so good! I really like Wassaab's bro's car, it looks like the best of both styles!
