I hear great things about the Dunlop SP5000s. I had a set of their predecessor, the SP4000, and loved them, but they wore out quickly. I didn't drive them in snow, but I cannot imagine they would have been any good after the first season (as I think is true of many 'all-season' tires). However, I expect the SP5000 has improved in virtually all areas over the SP4000 - much longer life, lower noise, higher levels of grip, and better snow traction..
If you consider Pirelli, do NOT get the P6000 Sport Veloce. It's snow/ice performance is abyssmal. Further, it howls like a banshee well short of the limit and isn't that great at hydroplaning resistance. That said, if you never drive in snow and don't want the ultimate tire, but a good one that wears well and has a smooth ride, it's ok.
I believe the Pirelli P4000 Super Touring is still being made, and I found that a decent tire in snow, it could get you by without too much trouble. It howls even more than the P6000SV, but is much better at resisting hydroplaning, and rides a little better, too. Both tires seemed to wear out under my agressive driving about 30-35k, a bit short of the 40,000 guarantee, but I didn't make Discount Tire pay for it, as I figured I got my money's worth out of them.
FWIW,
