Hey guys (90 SPG)
My friend and I took on the task of installing my SAS Rear Swaybar today. The task was really quite simple. Just a bunch of little things really. Took us under 2 hours to remove the old bar and put in the new one.
Handling wise... fortunatly, on the way to my friend's house, there are plenty of twisties to get back to my house, so I had a chance to test it out. It handles incredible. It does take some getting used to, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Understeer is gone. The car oversteers slightly. Around one sharp corner I tried to see if I could break the beack end loose, but I couldn't (probably since I don't have enough power since my turbo is shot). Anyway, it handles great. Alot more fun to drive than before. I plan on replacing the ball joints with some TRW's (the better of the two versions), and doing some other suspenion mods. My suspension package is really starting to come alive ( :
I just recieved my new Lesco, Garrett/Nissan T3 60 Turbo w/360 Degree Thrust Bearing & Lesco 18 PSI Wastegate Actuator. UPS came on time, which I was happy about, since they have been letting me down alot lately. The turbo looks great, I took plenty of digital camera pictures, to post when I get back to my computer at college. The turbo get's installed Thursday, along with a Valhalla Performance Ceramic Coated Distributor Heat Shiled (thanks Carl!) and a Bored Out & Polished Exhaust Manifold (thanks WASSAAB, for your help!). I am also having Lititz SAAB change my current Castrol motor oil to Mobil 1, 10W-30, and having them switch my transmission oil to Red Line MTL. I'll let you know Thursday or Friday how it turned out!
Also, 'Ubipa' from here on the board came to my house today to borrow my Aquamist nozzle thread tap for his custom DIY water injection system. He also dropped off some camshafts. We're going in together to send Crower some camshafts for our cars to have reground. I was going to have both cams reground by Crower to Group 6 Stage 2 cams, but after talking to Nate(Ubipa) he convinced me to only do the intake cam, similar to Swedish Dynamics specs, instead of doing both. This way, it only costs $78 to regrind for one cam, and I won't lose any low end power due to the reground exhaust cam. I plan on sending out our two intake cams Thursday to Crower!
As you can see, it was Christmas before Christmas today for me! ( :
Anyway...
Happy Holidays & Happy SAABing everyone!
Take care,
Taylor
