I am using an autometer sport comp gauge attached to the firewall-end of the fuel rail via a tapped and threaded banjo bolt and a 90 deg elbow. Many thanks to Dave Kennedy for the banjo bolt. I have a 92 900TC and the meter tucks nicely into the plumbing for the AC.
This meter is not liquid filled yet it gives rock steady readings. I do know however that others have experienced bouncing needles making readings difficult to make. Not sure if that was a result of their meter, the meter location, the fuel system, or what.
One reason I did not choose the remote sender fuel gauge option was the expense, the other was one of convenience. Having the gauge next to the regulator made setting the fuel pressure on my SPG9 RRFPR a piece of cake. I suppose if money were no object I would opt for both an in-cabin gauge and an engine-mounted gauge.
