Is that how the Aquamist pump works? It uses an inline press switch to activate the pump. So what is the range of it's activation: 100psi off, 80-90psi on?
The pump I chose has a 100psi bypass, it's like a reversed checkvalve w/ a 100psi crack pressure. The pump will maintain a 100psi press in the line always. Anything over 100psi will cause the bypass valve to open, reducing the pressure to 100psi. The bypass can handle about half of the 100psi flowrate of the pump and the 100psi flowrate of the pump is 1-2% under the 100psi nozzle flowrate. So basically I consistently get the same flowrate and the same press, no fluctuations like in the non-bypass pumps w/ pressure switches ("on-demand" style). Adding a pressure switch to the pump is an idea but I think I'd be losing some of the precision.
Though I was thinking of adding a (~110psi) press switch to the pump for safety; in case the nozzle clogged and caused an increase in pressure. That way the pump would turn off and activate a warning light.
