If you ensure that front and rear wheels have the same amount of slip, there is no excess enrgy to be stored/netered in the transmissions (with automatics the fluid would heat up and brake bands would give, I suppose...)
As said earlier, it's a tried and (motorsport) tested idea. There's been a twin-engined Seat Ibiza for rallying, a twin-engined Golf at Pikes Peak, a twin-engined Caterham, Audi TT, Jetta's, etc. etc. it's just that no one has done it with a Saab so far, and with at least two rear (mid) engined c900T's out there built in thee way describes, mechanically, you would not even be on uncharted territory.
Methinks it makes a lot more sense than all those Detroit Iron, live-axle V8 c900 conversions...
