The base boost should be about 5.0-5.5 psi. Most people here will normally use the spec settings. There are a few here that use slightly highr base boost as this will also increase the MAX boost. Usually if you increase the base boost by 1.0 psi above stock setting, the max boost will increase by about 3 psi, so turning it up a whole lot isn't needed. 1.0 psi above stock setting is fine though. If you raise the base boost too high you're increasing the floor that the APC will kick back to if it senses detonation. So instead of kicking the boost back to say 5.0 psi, it'll kick back down to say 7.0 psi or whatever base boost is set at. I've had mine set to stock settings, and I've also had it set at 7.0 psi as well. 7.0 psi made crazy boost levels of 23 psi but honestly the car wasn't feeling any faster or making anymore power because the turbo is pretty much limited to about 20 psi and above that you're just making more heat anyways. So, I took the base boost back down and set it to 5.5 psi and I can still get 20 psi out of the car without problems.

See Ya,
Phil
