this is Basic Knowledge for turbo Hacks.. Bone up... you will find out soon enough ;-)
Sodium filled valve is an exhaust valve (normally) that is filled with Sodium Metal.. the Valve is hollow inside the stem (Giveaway is that Sodium valves have surprisingly large diameter valve stems)and the sodium whicj melts readily, and pumps up and down the stem tube acting as coolant... keeps 'em from burning up in Turbo Heat... considered essential in any turbo engine that is designed to live longer than a few miles
