Hey my friend wants to lighten his flywheel on his Saab and I was wondering if anyone here has done the process themselves. I plan on machining it in the machine shop at my shool. I know some of you are now thinking "oh yeah like thats gonna work." But my school has a really awesome auto tech and auto body teachers. One of who machines car and truck parts professionaly. Anyways the main questions I have are:
1. How much can I take off before it becomes to weak.
2. What side effects can result from me doing this.
Also I plan on making him a shift knob out of aluminum that has SAAB printed on the top instead of 1-2-3-4-5. If and when I get done with that I will give him my friend a picture of it and the specs and process of how I made it.
Thanks
Chris Brende
