My 9000CS(auto gearbox)was Abbott Racing modified in May, 1997. A year later I experienced a similar lack of torque (especially at low gear low speed)as you did. I thought it must be the turbocharger, Trionic or the DI that went faulty. But upon inspection by the dealer, it was the "gear shift spring kit" of my ZF 4HP18 auto gearbox which needs to be replaced. I was initially skpetical as the gear shift was swift and smooth, but I trusted the dealer and replaced the kit. The acceleration was noticeably improved after replacement and I was pleased with the result.
As far as I know, the 900SE uses a different auto gearbox but I hope the above is useful to you. I assume the turbo guage on your dashboard shows healthy boost and there is no problem with boost and the Boost Pressure Control valve.
