I didn't know someone made a kit like this. I shortened the throw on my ng900 by spacing the shifter housing higher and raising the fulcrum point of the shifter. I also squeezed the washers holding the rubber bushing on the shifter closer together, which might be why my shifter feels a lot more precise.
I, too, had the problem with the lower part of the shift lever rubbing on the assembly housing, but was able to adjust the shifter to stop the problem. This is one of the best mods I've made to this car since I shift so many times a day. It's a lot more enjoyable to drive, I notice the difference whenever I get into another Saab and feel the vague, rubbery truck shifter the car comes with.
