Before I was boosting up to and holding at 19 lbs., never really realizing that the Bosch/type 110 valve was rated for 20 lbs (duh!). I obviously was blowing by the valve under full boost. Now with the Hyperboost holding closed, and pre-load fully adjusted out, the VDO boost gauge is buried -- pegged beyond the limit of the gauge -- 20 lbs -- and the car just screams!

Couple things I need to change, besides the obvious limitation of the guage:

1. the pressure rebound when the throttle plate closes is very noticable, the car bucks ever-so-slightly. No doubt over time that can and probably will do serious damage to the compressor blades. The Hyperboost is adjustable to up to 6 full turns. Guess where I set it? I'll back it down by about two and see if that fixes things.
2. The Hyperboost is HUGE compared to the Bosch or Forge units. It's very tight under there and as such, the boost control vacuum line is nearly touhing the the turbo. Granted, it's the cooler compressor side, but that sucker still gets awefully hot. I plan on moving the BPV up above that rat's nest of hoses.

Other than that, I could not be more pleased with the upgrade. Cheap too! Stratmosphere was holding a 15% discount on all their items up to 2/28 and I took full advantage. $179, and I got it for $152.

Pics will be posted once I get back from my business travels this week...
