In theory I think that it would work, but one behind the other wouldn't increase cooling capacity as much as if they were both in the windflow. I've read in a number of sources that once you go past two inches in thickness, the efficiency is not increased by that much. however the way you propose could potentially open up breathing quite a bit, resulting in less turbo lag and higher possible output with the propper modifications. It could also increase i/c efficiency if teamed up with one or two radiator fans. stacking the two i/c's up one on top of the other though could increase both cooling capacity and flow, although it might start to block the radiator enough to alter the cooling capacity of the cooling system. Anyway, not a bad idea, but I think I'd still rather have a nice custom spearco shoved in there ;) Good luck if you try!
