Yes it is very possible. The project isn't too bad either. You need to get all the parts first, and you should go with the later model water cooled turbo. There are a bunch of little gaskets and seals that you need and you don't want to have everything apart then realize you are missing something. you will need a new Turbo clutch, fuel injectors- i use the stock turbo injectors with the 3bar fuel pressure regulator and it seems to work well, exhaust manifold, turbo, water and oil lines to the turbo+all the hardware to attach them, intercooler, oilcooler, intake piping, turbo downpipe and 4 bolt cat, new battery(turbo one is smaller) battery heatshield, distributor heatshield. THis is a pretty good list but i suggest going to your local saab service facility and purchasing the saab quick reference parts guide, you can see all different parts from there. My turbo'd S is an 88, we did the project in two days fully tuned and ready to rock. IT is a total blast to drive, i only wish i had done it sooner. I run 6-7 psi now, until i get the turbo LH box or the taliferro chip. THat is plenty of boost on the high compression motor i almost any honda and hang with boxsters on the high way. I talked to Brad at georges imports and he said they have a turbo'd 900S running fifteen pounds of boost on water injection and it is really fast. It is an awesome project....Have fun.
