I have the SpeedParts Stage 1 ECU in my 1998 900SET (Stage 1 and 2 use the same ECU program, Stage 2 just includes the sport exhaust). It works just as advertised. No change in ’normal’ driving but push the throttle down and she really goes!
SpeedParts uses an ECU program for the automatic transmission cars that limits the amount of torque produced, thus not destroying the torque converter. Unless you use the new ECU for stoplight drag races, it should not have any impact on the life of the engine or transmission.
