We have prepared and run 99 and 900 on 1/2 mile asphalt. Our rules required a Holley 350 carbuator. I personal do not see any benefit to cis for this type of racing. The only time it might be would be if you have to run a very small carbuator. We turned our 8v's as much as 8000rpm with the Holly. The stock cis injection would not have provied us with enough fuel for the power we made. If you used a Mercedes v8 fuel distributor you might get enough.
As for fuel pump, we just made car for a couple of the young people working for us. The class is stock. We used a 16v non turbo with the fuel pump mounted outside of the tank. The pump is mounted lower than the fuel level. We test on Wednesday and race on Saturday. We run I-70 Speedway a 30 degree banked, long 1/2.
Depending on the carbuator I would not do CIS.
