What's wrong with 6.0 psi base boost? I don't think I'm gettin gwhat your saying. I mean if you had to turn it down from 5.9 to 5.0 to deal with boost spike, then why would you try and turn it back up and even further to almost 9-10 psi? That would not resolve whatever issues you were having. I've heard of this 1/2 of max boost for base boost setting, but for the life of me I can't see why this makes any sense. Most anyone here with a base boost setting of 6.0 psi, can obtain max boost in the range of 20-22 psi easily (myself included) and that's more than enough boost. If you're having bost spike issues, it's caused by something else not base boost that I can see. Maybe ignition, or detonation related or something else all together. If anything turning the base boost down should make it better.
