Fuel or boost cutoff?

On my way back from Midas after getting a brand new 2.5" exhaust system installed(took out the 2nd muffler and the only muffler is an older straight through muffler i bought earlier,it hauls and sounds great doing so)and so I decide to get on it,the boost guage hits about half red(sorry no "real" boost guage yet, soon though)and then all of a sudden the car lurches foward and everything seems to seize. Now is this boost or fuel cutoff or a combination of both? I have a 2.5" exhaust,K&N and Red Box APC tweaked for more boost. Seeing how the boost gauge never went this high before im guessing the old exhaust held it back. I'm just wondering is the stock cutoff for this and is there any way to raise this(dont want to eliminate it,just move it up a few PSI). Also my wastegate rod is stuck pretty good. I dont want to break, any way to free it up? Should I just flood it full of WD 40 and let it sit a bit?
Much thanks :)
