Hey Joe98,
There is a particular highway-to-city street near me where the 65mph highway (my speed 80mph) turns into a 25mph zone, which I use for 80-25mph braking practice when nobody is around.
With the X-drilled Zimmerman rotors and these KVR carbon/kevlar pads, I get a very loud groaning sound (like you mention) under HARD braking. It sounds like a bad wheel bearing or really badly warped rotors - but the pedal is solid. It's kind of annoying so I don't do it with others in the car. Roger, no offense but I'm guessing that you don't use the brakes hard enough to produce this sound, which is typical of many x-drilled rotors. The repeat performance of mine works the same for about a dozen applications (or about two laps!) and then the pedal goes soft. So Joe98 maybe your pads are responsible for that soft 2nd application. I have no experience with the PBR's though.
