In the rain, Wednesday night... my Trent/Malpassi RRFPR locked up on me, preventing fuel from getting into the cylinders. The pump was making plenty of pressure, but the locked RRFPR would not allow any fuel through the rail.

The symptoms: identical to those I experienced a few months back. At the time, I thought the miracle fix was having replaced the ignition module. Not so. I believe the real fix was a weather change. The cold weather change allowed the rubber diaphragm to shrink temporarily. Just a theory, and probably wrong considering where the FPR sits on top of the engine! Anyway, I replaced it first with a 3.0 bar, then with a 2.5 bar (because it was too rich with the 3 bar and 30# injectors). The hiccup is gone again, and this fix makes much more sense than the ignition module.

I had to adjust the AMM down to about 130 ohms because the 2.5 bar was still too rich with the current settings. This will probably need more adjustment over the next week or so. I also went back to one of my stock ECUs.

So, for those with the Trent.. be forewarned. It ran great for a while, but it's not worth the risk. By the way, I always run 93 octane, if not higher (94 available at Sunoco).

I've included a link to a new FPR from Bell Engineering. These folks designed the original RRFPR almost 30 years ago, and they know what they are doing. This is the "in-series" style rather than the replacement style of the Trent. I'd love to get your thoughts on this piece.
