I have had both size tires on my SPG's...(15 inch rims, lowering coils)
Well, 60 series tires give you a much softer/comfortable ride, you dont feel every single spec of dirt on the road haha, I have notcied though, they do look kinda big on SPG's (a little to big)....50 series tires handle better as far as fast/sharp cornering, the ride isnt as soft, the downfall to these is that your more apt to damage your rims..I hit a pothole last summer with my '85 SPG, it had 205/50/15 Kuhmo tires on it, and one rim got bent pretty bad &had to be professionally repaired. Never had that happen with larger tires. I think a good size os 205/55/15...still give you a good sporty feel, but not to harsh....seem to hold up longer too (tread life)
