I'm curious how many of you guys live in cold climates?
Reason I ask is I had a very strange experience using a gel-cell in a 900 I owned.
I got this surplus 135AH cell and installed it in the spare-tire well. Worked like a champ in warm weather.
When fall came, I got another Saab, and the "project car" got to sit outside all winter. As the weather got colder, I watched the alarm LED get dimmer and dimmer until it was not visible at all (the car was never driven). Battery died from self-discharge and parasitic drain, I figured.
Well spring came and the weather warmed up, and guess what? The LED was lit again! One 70-degree day, I hopped in the car, turned the key, and she started right up with no jump or battery charging!
Anyone else ever had an experience like this?
