Hey man,
How are things going with the car?
I just recently bought a set of 10" SPAL electric cooling fans that I will use to replace the stock units. I wouldn't have upgraded unless my stock driver side fan fried itself. It keeps blowing it's fuse because it needs alot more juice to power it now that its getting old.
I think I paid somewhere between $60-$80 per fan. I did a bunch of measurements and they will fit right in. I have everything written down at home, so I can give you the information next week if you'd like.
FWIW, these SPAL fans flow 650 CFMs. I believe one is a puller, and one is a pusher. They can be switched in seconds though. I know that the stock fans flow a considerably less amount of CFMs. I forget what the numbers are though. I believe I found it somewhere here on the boards.
I also thought about going to a single slim-fan cooling fan, but Kevin K brought up an interesting point when I asked about the subject a while back...
about using a single 12" fan... "should work, but not as well as 2 smalls .... back flow around fan when slow in traffic. but 2 smalls would get pulsing noise. optimal is stock."
Good luck!
keep us updated,
Taylor
RIP Kyle & Tim
