I'm having the same exact problem right now, and if you look down on the BB about 5 posts you'll see my questing about the same ticking sound. First off check your oil. Is low or partially black? If it's too low that means you're now able to hear the lifters apon start up. If there's too much deposite in your oil, it's not getting where it needs to be when it's fairly cool. If an oil change with proper older car oil does not work, it's time to check out your lifters first off, then possibly your engine timing chain. Before either of those, take off your ignition plug cover and make sure all your spark plugs are tight. One of mine was leaking something inbetween the seals, I tighetened it and make a slight difference. Just HOPE that it's just your oil. I'm gonna change my oil this weekend and cross my fingers, haha. Good Luck!
